Try-A-Trade Opportunity

RCTC is offering a program called Try-A-Trade. The program consists of two separate components: the first is an Open House Event, which will take place on Saturday, February 7th.  The Open House is an opportunity for folks to listen to a local professional share what it is like to be a woman in the trades.  Following our Keynote, we will have local businesses, tours of the RCTC workshops and classrooms, a professional panel to answer questions, door prizes, and light refreshments.  Click for the Open House flyer.

The second part of our Try-A-Trade offering is attending an 8-hour (4-night) program that serves as an introduction to one of four trade programs offered by RCTC.  Registrants attend two-hour classes over four nights that will introduce them to the fundamentals needed for a career in Automotive Mechanics, Carpentry, Welding, or Plumbing/HVAC.

Click for the electronic copy of the flyer with information on the programs/events.  The Open House is to offer information about the Trades Sampler and help with registration for the introduction classes.  The 4-night course is to teach fundamentals of the different trades.

RCTC has secured grant funding through the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota to help remove barriers for women and gender non-conforming individuals to participate in the Try- A- Trade Sampler Series at no cost, so please feel free to spread the word directly to those who you think would be interested and would benefit.  The promo code for someone to get the course free of charge is WELCOME.
