How long have you worked in RPS?

I have worked for RPS since 2001. It has been 23 years of blessings and life-changing experiences.

Why did you choose to work with RPS?

I have always wanted to serve our community. Working for RPS gives me the opportunity to serve our students and their parents directly on a regular basis.

What’s your favorite part about working with high school students?

My favorite part of working with high school students is helping students reach their goals of graduation in time with their peers. It is alwaysa dream come true to see the students I mentor after four years of hard work receive their high school diplomas. Also, I enjoy being part of our students and families’ learning journeys, even beyond high school.

What is something about your job as an equity specialist that people don’t understand?

We wear multiple hats and are always on our toes. We take pride in establishing an inclusive culture where everyone feels they belong and are respected. We are always working hard to make sure our students' needs are met while they are in our buildings. I enjoy helping students unlock their strengths to reach their full potential as they navigate through our school building.

What was one of your favorite memories of going to school?

I have tons of positive memories, but nothing compares to when I am able to assist our diverse communities and our district connect in a meaningful way with activities like the Iftar Celebration and Culture Night.
